iPhone 7,the tenth edition of the best phone ever.Can we expect a totally new phone? I don’t think so but it sure will sell like hot cakes.Over the course of months we have seen a lot of rumours regarding the upcoming device.Some were believable and some not even close.Lets have and in-depth look and lets put some reasoning behind the rumours.
3.5mm headphone port
This is the biggest rumour of them all.Will apple ditch the 3.5mm jack? We have seen devices like the moto z ditch the headphone jack for a USB C port.If not for a bluetooth headset there is no way to charge and listen to music at the same time.This would mean travelling with the iPhone would be a pain in the ass for all those music heads.I’m sure apple would come up with some adapter which would cost 15-20$.If apple ditches the headphone jack,it would mean a thinner device which would mean a smaller battery.This would further effect the already bad battery life on the smaller 4.7 inch variants.As a user of the iPhone 6s,i would prefer my device a little thicker and grippier.Well,that’s just me i guess/
Home Button
The home button is a critical part of the iPhone.It is certainly the most prominent button on its front face.It distinguishes the iPhone from other phones.Most rumours suggest that apple might be moving away from the physical home button to a capacitive home button with touch-ID.To be honest,we all should be happy for this change.It suggests that apple is indeed trying to make it phones waterproof which is welcome.
The physical home button also loses its tactile feel over the course of time.It stars becoming fidgety and makes me feel as if it going to give way some day.
Antenna lines are gone (Not really):
Rumours suggest that the antenna lines would be moved away from the back of the phone.Pictures of the leaked iPhone 7 suggest that the lines are moved towards the side of the phone and runs around its curves.This makes the back look more cleaner.There has a lot of feedback from customers and critics to remove these lines and from these rumours, i think apple has heard our concers.This is surely a welcome change.Now, we should know that these lines are there for the signals from the phones the penetrate the body easily,and there isn’t any technology as of now to overcome these lines.Apple has filed a patent for a material that can allow radio waves to pass easily.It remains to be found out whether apple would go forth and build a device with this material.Lets wait and watch.
